This article discusses key trends and challenges in food and beverage industry construction according to 47th Annual Plant Construction Survey, 2024. Aspects considered include: causes of construction project delays (supply chain constraints, inflation, labor shortages); recovery from COVID-19 pandemic-related disruptions; investments in facility upgrades, automation and sustainability initiatives; shifts from greenfield to brownfield projects focused on the expansion and upgrade of existing facilities; and implementation of automation to address labor issues and enhance operational efficiency.
