The invention relates to isolated strains of Bacillus altitudinis identified as PV2, Bacillus subtilis identified as PV4 and Bacillus mojavensis identified as PV44, which comprise the characteristics of the deposited strains CM-CNRG TB232, CM-5 CNRG TB231 and CM-CNRG TB230, respectively, wherein the strains exhibit vinasse-purifying activity. The invention also relates to a probiotic mixture for preparing a formulation useful in vinasse processing, which comprises at least two isolated bacterial strains according to the present invention. The invention additionally relates to a formulation for vinasse processing, which comprises: a probiotic mixture according to the present invention; at least one prebiotic substance; and at least one excipient. The invention further relates to a method for processing vinasse, which comprises applying an effective amount of the formulation of the invention.
