Provided is a functional food composition which effectively utilizes almond meal remaining after extracting almond oil from almond seeds and, when taken by humans, which is effective in health maintenance, in particular, for enhancing the intestinal environment of humans. Also provided is a manufacturing method thereof. The functional food composition for enhancing the intestinal environment of humans is characterized by containing, as an active ingredient, a defatted lees remaining after roasting almond seeds and extracting oil. The manufacturing method thereof comprises a roasting step for roasting almond seeds and an oil extraction step for separating almond oil from the almond seeds after the roasting step. After the oil extraction step, the defatted lees is utilized as the active ingredient.
