To provide a metal foil-polyimide laminate which is preferably usable for a planar heating element and has large adhesion force and reduced variation of adhesion force without causing complication of a production process.SOLUTION: In a metal foil-polyimide laminate, a polyimide-based resin layer having the thickness of 1 to 50 micro m is formed on a metal foil having the thickness of 10 to 100 micro m by a casting method. The polyimide-based resin layer is polyimide-based resin synthesized by diamine compound and tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride. The diamine compound is at least paraphenylene diamine and 2,2'-dimethyl-4,4'-diaminobiphenyl. The tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride is at least pyromellitic acid dianhydride and 3,4,3',4'-biphenyl tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride. The peel strength of the metal foil is 1kN/m or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None
