[Abstract] [Problem] The present invention addresses the problem of: preparing a food product, cosmetic, quasi-pharmaceutical product, and pharmaceutical product utilizing lactic acid bacteria; and developing a food product, cosmetic, quasi-pharmaceutical product, and pharmaceutical product that have been verified to be useful for growing hair, etc., as a result of the food product, quasi-pharmaceutical product, or pharmaceutical product being actually orally ingested by a person. [Solution] The inventors of the present invention screened various types of lactic acid bacteria, used the fact that hair papilla cell activity is absolutely necessary for achieving hair-generating, hair-growing, and hair-nourishing effects, and screened a plurality of types of lactic acid bacteria by using hair papilla cell activity as an indicator so as to select a lactic acid bacteria (lactobacillus plantarum).
