The rapid quantitative detection of L-tryptophan (L-Trp) is essential for promoting agricultural development. A miniature electrochemical sensor was constructed with the pencil graphite electrode (PGE) modified with poly (9-aminoacridine) film (PAA) for the detection of L-Trp in cucumber. The electropolymerization of PAA could greatly increase the sensitivity and selectivity, resulting in the constructed sensor with a linear range of 5-200 µM and the limit of detection as 0.035 µM. The miniature electrochemical sensor is a reliable electrochemical platform for the detection of L-Trp in cucumber fruit both in vivo and in vitro. All rights reserved, Elsevier.
