To provide a laminate which is usable as a transparent substrate for protection of an optical element, in which the laminate has a self-cleaning function of easily removing oil stain by rainwater or water washing, easily recovering hydrophilicity, and maintaining hydrophilicity for an extended period.SOLUTION: The laminate is obtained by lamination of a hydrophilic resin layer containing a tetrafluoroethylene resin having a sulfonic acid group on a side chain and a binder resin and a substrate, where the laminate is characterized by that haze value of the substrate is 0.2 percent or less and the difference between the haze value of the laminate and the haze value of the substrate is 1 percent or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
