To provide a photocatalytic composite material of high activity which can be easily produced and is hardly peeled, a production method of the same, and a photocatalyst device using the same.SOLUTION: A photocatalytic composite material 100 is provided that has structure in which an aluminum oxide layer 101, a tungsten oxide layer 102, and a porous layer 107 including a fibrous aluminum oxide are laminated in this order. The photocatalytic composite material can be produced by (a) preparing a substrate having the aluminum oxide layer, (b) applying a photocatalyst fluid dispersion including tungsten oxide particles to the surface of the aluminum oxide layer, and (c) heating the substrate with the photocatalyst fluid dispersion applied thereto, at 500 degrees centigrade or higher under an oxygen-containing atmosphere.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
