To provide a tomato sauce filling having wrapping suitability which prevents the filling from oozing out to external wrapping dough or leaking to the outside when a food such as bread including the filling is cooked at a high temperature, and on the other hand, retaining tomato flavor and holding natural texture and appearance.SOLUTION: A production method is for a tomato sauce filling which has as the raw materials, at least a tomato raw material, chemically modified or enzyme modified processed starch, dried onions and water. The production method of the tomato sauce filling includes adding 2-4 mass percent of chemically modified or enzyme modified processed starch, and 6-9 mass percent of dried onions to a raw material mixture of the tomato sauce filling.SELECTED DRAWING: None
