The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of two different feeding managements on growth performance, carcass, and meat traits of 40 pigs: 20 Cinta Senese pure breed (CS) and 20 Large White x Cinta Senese (LWxCS) crossbred pigs. Twenty barrows (10 CS and 10 LWxCS) were reared outdoor in a rotational pasture system according to the farm forage chain; pigs were supplemented with concentrate when needed (P); twenty barrows (10 CS and 10 LWxCS) were placed into outdoor fence as control and feed only concentrate (F). All pigs were slaughtered at 154 kg of live weight, on average. Carcass was dissected into anatomical cuts; tissue composition of lumbar sample joint was assessed and physical and chemical analysis on the Longissimus lumborum were carried out.
