Biological oils are described, together with methods for making and using them. The oils are preferably produced by heterotrophic fermentation using â‰¥1 microorganism, with a cellulose-containing feedstock as a main source of C. Methods for producing lipid-based biofuels and food, nutritional and pharmaceutical products using the oils are also described.
