A multistem strain of Lyophyllum ulmarium is described. The strain is capable of forming, on average, ≥65 fruiting bodies with a ≥20 mm stem length when 10 g of a solid inoculum is inoculated into a medium. The medium is prepared by mixing sawdust (an equivolumetric mixture of cedar and beech sawdust) and rice bran at a v/v ratio of 3:1, adjusting the moisture content to 63% and press-bottling into a 850 ml polypropylene wide-mouthed bottle so as to give 535 g of contents. 3 strains of the multistem strain are provided.
